How to Change Motorcycle Engine Oil
Before you start your motorcycle engine oil change, you need the appropriate tools you need within easy reach. Include tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, or just in case the gas cap was screwed down. You should also prepare rags and containers for the waste oil. Your motorcycle must be situated in an area that you can afford it, dirty, messy and greasy after the changing process. It is advisable to bring the bike with the kick-stand, instead of the side or rear stands.Place the container under the bike where you think the oil will flow.
The next thing you should do is to warm up your engine. This is not hard particles in your engine oil to soften. Then turn off the engine to be a bit chilly. Go remove the filler cap when the engine is slightly warm. This allows the oil drain quickly. Use the tools you need, if it is firmly screwed on.
Locate the drain plug and store, so that the oil would drain. In the last few lapsmay be the drain plug, because the hot oil started pouring in the near future to be careful. Make sure that the empty cans ready for the drainage of oil.
Remove the dirty drain plug retaining ring and install a new one. Oil drain plug crush washers are made of either copper or aluminum. It is a small spacer under the drain plug that helps seal in the motorcycle engine oil will be placed. Oil drain plug crush washers are also flex under pressure. Every month or every time you change your motorcycle engine oil, make sure you install a new drain plug retaining ring afterwards.
With a clean cloth, wipe the tip of the drain plug. This is to be removed for small metallic particles in the magnetic part of the drain plug. Small pieces of silver metal by the motorcycle engine shed. These small pieces aregenerally jammed at the edge or on top of the drain plug.
Locate the oil filter in your motorcycle. The location of the oil filter or does it vary depending on what motorcycle model you have. It is best to consult your manual to ensure that you can not find a hard time, it will have. Removing them is firmly bolted to a filter removal tool. See that a rubber band comes along with the filters as you move out there.
Clean the outside of the motorcycle where the oil filter is located. Dip yourFingers in the fresh oil and use it to wipe the dirt on the location of the oil filters. Then carefully screw the new oil filter.
Reset the drain plug and fill it with new motorcycle engine oil. Make sure it's already dirt-free and securely fastened to prevent oil spillage. Put only a large quantity of motorcycle engine oil that is specified in your motorcycle manual.
